【Osaka】 5 shops recommended by locals at “Kuromon Market,” a treasury of fine food.
Speaking of fine food, Kuromon Market would come to mind.
Lined with many shops such as seafood restaurant and wagyu beef shop, it is very popular among foreign tourists as well as locals.
This time I introduce shops offering “take-out” food.
It is suitable not just for eating around, but also for bringing for picnic or hiking or bringing it back to the hotel to eat. In other words, the charm of take-out food is that you can eat it whenever and wherever you like.
2. Somehow nostalgic “Sakura shokudo”
3. As for photogenic items, “Kuromon Ichiba MARU” is the place.
4. Once started eating this, you can never stop. “Kawako Honten”
5. Kaitenyaki sold at “Hana-no-ki” has a cute look.
Simmering oden is the landmark ☆ Home cooking is served at a Japanese delicatessen, “Ishibashi Shokuhin.”
An authentic flavor of the restaurant is nice, and yet, relaxing home cooking is also nice.
If you feel like eating Japanese home cooking, here is the place.
Home dishes which have long been loved with locals are lined up there.
I have seen many tourists halted in front of the shop, tempted by the nice smell of dishes at the shop front.
Among their dishes, oden is especially great since soup stock is permeated well into ingredients.
Many people take a video or photos of simmering oden and upload them on SNS./p>
Dishes displayed at the shop front vary, depending on the season. Among them, boiled fish such as flounder and mackerel is great, since the fish meat is tender and also sweet and salty flavor has permeated into it.
At the end of the year, osechi-ryori (or special new year’s cuisine) is available here.

Inside the shop, you can eat tasty Japanese food reasonably.
Well-balanced and filling set menus are good for lunch! They are popular among locals including nearby office workers.
At the shop front, oden in which the broth has permeated well, is simmering!
Because of its convenience, oden is good when you feel a little hungry, and also it is suitable for eating while walking.

As for photogenic items, “Kuromon Ichiba MARU” is the place.
A few kinds of delicious melons of the season are stocked from all over Japan, and sugar content of each melon is checked and displayed every morning. Therefore, with the information, you can choose the one you like.
Its photogenic appearance of using the fruit itself as a bowl draws people’s attention, to say nothing of its taste, and in fact, I saw many people taking photos.
The most popular item is “Marumaru melon soft.” A melon was cut in half and their original milky soft (ice cream) is placed on it.
“Maru’s special milky soft,” produced as a result of seeking the soft ice cream that goes well with melon, is just great.
It seems that some people order it alone as they come only for it.

Once started eating this, you can never stop. “Kawako Honten”
The shop has a long history as it was established more than 60 years ago, and they still work on product development to create new items. Therefore, you can still find a new way of eating seaweed.
Since they use good quality seaweed for their products, each piece is crisp and yet it would get loose softly in the mouth. So, you can eat it easily.
Various kinds are sold, and you can find the one you like by trying free samples.
The popular item is the additive-free “Genki-kun.” With cute illustration and its plastic package which makes it easy to carry in the suitcase without getting any damage, it makes a nice souvenir.
Though it is seasoned, a firm seaweed flavor still remains in the product.

Kaitenyaki sold at “Hana-no-ki” has a cute look.
When you feel a little hungry, local food of Osaka such as takoyaki or okonomiyaki is just nice. Smell of the sauce sharpen the appetite.
Osaka’s takoyaki is crisp outside and runny inside. Okonomiyaki is fluffy and has sweetness of cabbage.
Obanyaki made at the shop front has the design of its mascot character “Mo’on-chan.” Inside is filled with either red bean paste or custard cream.
Having a good balance of soft, moist sponge and slightly sweet filling, it is loved by people in Osaka. (One piece : 130 yen)
