OSAKA: The Gourmet Treasure Chest that is Kuromon Market – Locals’ Top 3 Picks for Meat & Teppanyaki
Kuromon Tentekomai
Opened in September 2019! This is the perfect place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the tourist track.
Kuromon Tentekomai is just 10 meters from where you leave the crowds of the Kuromon Market shopping street.
Newly opened, the store is great for people seeking a good but lesser-known spot, or somewhere to rest their weary legs and relax over a meal. With a beer in one hand, you can have fun getting to know the locals.
The store’s façade looks like a Japanese castle, and the shopfront chalk art is worth checking out, too☆
The recommended dish is one that is popular with the store’s regular customers – offal yakisoba. That is noodles fried on an iron hotplate and it is delicious. The good smell of the sauce and offal will have you eating more and more before you know it.
Another tasty choice is the negiyaki, which is like the Osaka-born okonomiyaki savory pancake. Many customers are hooked on the wagyu steak of Japanese beef.
(Offal yakisoba fried noodles: \800, negiyaki \800, sirloin steak \2,000)

Meat Shop KOBEYA
The easy way to do teppanyaki grilling! Watch wagyu beef being sliced right before your eyes.
The first floor is a butcher that runs the yakiniku BBQ restaurant on the second floor. If you buy 100 grams at the butcher, they will cook it for you and you can eat it straight away.
If you’d prefer to eat leisurely, you can go to the second-floor BBQ restaurant, where you can even have a proper wagyu steak of high-quality Japanese beef. Since it is run directly by a butcher, you can savor wagyu at a friendly price.
The sirloin steak is recommended. That day’s recommended brand of wagyu will be written up for you to see.
It would be fun to go along with friends and each buy different types of wagyu to taste and compare! You will surely tell the difference. You can also try pork and offal.

You see a lot of tourists walking around as they eat meat on a stick, but surely some people would prefer to take their time and rest as they eat.
Stores can get crowded at meal times, so we recommend you avoid peak hours.
While you’re in Kansai, you must try teppanyaki (iron-griddle) cooking, which originated here☆
